Neal Jean

Neal Jean is the current CEO of Beacons. Prior to this, they were a PHD student at Stanford University from September 2014 to June 2019. Neal's research there applied deep learning research to make the world a better place, using satellite imagery to map poverty in Africa and Raman spectroscopy to detect bacterial infections. From June 2014 to August 2014, they were a Research Intern at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where they worked on software for aircraft and satellite laser communications.

Neal Jean received their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, their Master of Science in Electrical Engineering also from Stanford University, and their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Neal also has a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Mathematics from Duke University.
