Alexandra Shay

Alexandra Shay has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Alexandra is currently working as a Principal Research Associate at Beam Therapeutics since August 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Research Associate II from April 2022 to September 2023.

Before joining Beam Therapeutics, Alexandra worked at Massachusetts General Hospital. Alexandra held multiple roles during their tenure, starting as a Research Lab Assistant from May 2012 to August 2012. Alexandra then progressed to Medical Laboratory Scientist I - Flow Cytometry in July 2016, which lasted until January 2022. From October 2019 to January 2022, they also served as a Senior Technologist. Most recently, they worked as a Technical Specialist from November 2021 to September 2023.

Additionally, Alexandra gained practical experience as a Medical Laboratory Science Student Intern at Dartmouth-Hitchcock from January 2016 to June 2016. Alexandra also volunteered as a Medical Brigade Volunteer at Global Brigades, Inc. in January 2015. Alexandra started their career as a Phlebotomy Intern at Middlesex Hospital Outpatient Center from August 2014 to September 2014.

Alexandra Shay graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biomedical Science: Medical Laboratory Science. Prior to that, they attended Guilford High School from 2008 to 2012. In addition, they obtained their MLS (ASCP) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology in July 2016.
