Martina Schinke

SVP Program Lead In Vivo Gene Editing at Beam

Martina Schinke has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Martina is currently in the role of SVP Program Lead In Vivo gene editing at Beam Therapeutics, starting in June 2023. Previously, they served as SVP Strategy & Program Leadership at Vedere Bio II, where they provided strategic and operational leadership for the company's optogenetic programs until May 2023. Prior to that, Martina held the position of VP of Program Management and Program Leadership at Finch Therapeutics Group, where they established the Program Management Organization and led the development of microbiome therapies for Autism Spectrum Disorder and gastrointestinal disorders. Martina also worked at bluebird bio as Sr. Director and Director of Program Management, and at Novartis in various roles including Associate Director of Global Program Management and Project Manager in the field of oncology and cardiovascular research. Martina started their career at Harvard University and Harvard Medical School in research and leadership positions.

Martina Schinke has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Pharmacology from Heidelberg University. Martina also has a high school diploma (Abitur) in Biology from Theodor-Heuss Gymnasium Goettingen. Martina Schinke has completed their postdoctoral research fellowships at Harvard Medical School in the Cardiovascular Department of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and at the University of Michigan in the Cardiovascular Department.
