David Trowbridge has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. David is the founder of Beanbag, Inc. and has been leading efforts to support the open-source Review Board project since 2010. Prior to that, they co-founded and maintained Review Board, a web-based tool for collaborative code review, starting in 2007. David also served as a student mentor for Review Board's participation in Google's Summer of Code program in 2008. At VMware, they worked as a staff engineer and engineering lead, contributing to the development of major products on the Workstation/Player team from 2006 to 2013. David founded and maintained XChat-GNOME, a front-end to the popular IRC client, from 2004 to 2007. Additionally, they worked as a student systems administrator and research assistant at the University of Colorado at Boulder from 2002 to 2006, where they gained experience in system and network administration as well as motion capture data analysis. David also created and maintained Fyre, a software system for producing computational art, from 2003 to 2006. As a core developer, they made significant contributions to the online multiplayer game BZFlag from 2000 to 2006. David also contributed to the Evolution application for the GNOME desktop as part of the GNOME bounties program sponsored by Novell from 2003 to 2005. David interned at SGI in 2004, where they worked on software porting, integration, and performance analysis for different systems.
David Trowbridge attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 2001 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree. During their time at the university, they pursued a double major, earning a BS in Computer Science and a BA in Music.
