Jaehyun Yeom

Director of Software Engineering at Bear Robotics

Jaehyun Yeom has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jaehyun began their career in the US Army as a Sergeant KATUSA, serving as a signal soldier in a US military base in South Korea. After completing two years of active duty, they served as a reserved soldier for eight years and then transitioned to civil defense in Korea.

Following their military service, Jaehyun worked as a Search Engine Researcher at Rebi Search. During this time, they wrote a search engine from scratch and built infrastructure, including a Korean language analyzer.

In 2008, Jaehyun joined Google as a Software Engineer. Jaehyun held various roles during their tenure, including contributing to personalized news feed recommendation at Google's homepage and working on search quality for next billion users. Jaehyun also had experience with Google AI Assistant.

In 2019, Jaehyun joined Suki as a Software Engineer, where they worked until December of that year.

Since September 2020, Jaehyun has been employed at Bear Robotics, Inc. Jaehyun initially worked as a Software Engineer and later took on the position of Director of Software Engineering.

Jaehyun Yeom obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Seoul National University. Jaehyun attended Seoul National University from 2002 to 2008.

Prior to attending Seoul National University, Jaehyun Yeom completed their academic education at Andong High School from 1999 to 2002.

In addition to their formal education, Jaehyun Yeom has obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates in October 2016. The certificate was awarded by the institution.
