Faith Polkey MD, MPH has extensive work experience in the healthcare field. Faith started their career in 2002 at Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services, Inc., where they held various roles including Chief Executive Officer, Interim Chief Medical Officer, Pediatrician, Chief Clinical Officer, and Chief of Pediatrics. Faith joined Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services, Inc. in September 2002 as a Pediatrician and held the role until the present time. In November 2017, Faith Polkey MD, MPH was promoted to Chief Clinical Officer and held the position until April 2022. Faith also served as Interim Chief Medical Officer from May 2021 to the present.
In addition to their work at Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services, Inc., Faith Polkey MD, MPH has also worked at AT Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona - SC Campus. Since May 2008, they have served as the Regional Director of Medical Education.
Dr. Faith Polkey earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology, General from the University of South Carolina in 1993. Faith then attended The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 1997. Following their medical degree, Dr. Polkey completed their Pediatrics Residency Program at Duke University from 1997 to 2000.
In 2000, they pursued further education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During this time, Dr. Polkey earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a specialization in Public Health Leadership. Faith also participated in the Public Health and General Preventive Medicine Residency Program at the same institution.
In November 2017, Dr. Polkey obtained the certification of Certified Physician Executive from the American Association for Physician Leadership®.
