Alyson Smith has extensive experience in the field of special education. Alyson started their career as a Special Education Instructional Assistant at Santa Maria Bonita School District in 2014. Alyson then worked as a Behavior Instructor at California Psychcare for a few months in 2016 before joining Beaverton School District as a Special Education Program Assistant from September 2016 to August 2017. In 2017, they moved to Cherry Creek School District and served as a Special Education Paraeducator for a year. Alyson then joined Douglas County School District in 2018 as an Affective Needs EA, where they worked until 2019. Alyson returned to Beaverton School District in 2019, initially as a Special Education Student Teacher from August to December, and later as a Substitute Teacher from December 2019 to August 2020. Currently, they hold the position of a Special Education Teacher at Beaverton School District, starting in August 2020.

Alyson Smith's education history starts in 2013 when they attended SBBCollege Santa Barbara and earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree. Alyson then went on to attend Portland Community College from 2016 to 2017, where they obtained an Associate's degree in General Studies. In 2017, Alyson enrolled at the University of Northern Colorado where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Special Education and Teaching. Their time at the University of Northern Colorado lasted until 2019. Currently, Alyson is attending Portland State University and is expected to complete their Master of Education (MEd) degree in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2023.
