Lauren McCartney has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Lauren'smost recent role was as a Middle School Humanities and Social Studies Teacher at Beaverton School District, where they started in August 2015. Prior to that, they worked as a Social Studies Teacher at Rosi Hinton School from August 2014 to June 2015. During this time, they taught middle and high school classes and led a community development elective, integrating local and national history and current events.

Before joining Rosi Hinton School, Lauren held positions as a Student Advisor and AVID Tutor at Parkrose and Portland Pubic School Districts from January 2011 to June 2013. Lauren also served as the Board Chair at the In Other Words Bookstore and Resource Center from January 2009 to May 2013. Lauren McCartney's education history includes completing an Endorsement in English for Speakers of Other Languages at Oregon State University from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Arts in Secondary Education and Teaching from Lewis & Clark College between 2013 and 2014. Lauren'sundergraduate studies were completed at Portland State University from 2001 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Community Development.
