Rick Bush has a diverse work experience in the field of education and instructional technology. Rick began their career as a Helpdesk Technician at Eastern Michigan University, providing tech support and educating employees and students on computer use. Later, they worked as an Assistant to the Grant Administrator at the Si Se Puede After School Program, where they mentored pre-service teachers and organized field trips for program participants.
Moving on to their teaching roles, Rick worked as a 6th Grade Math Teacher at Constantine Public Schools, collaborating with colleagues to design curriculum and improve student proficiency. Rick then served as an Elementary Classroom Teacher at Madison Metropolitan School District, where they integrated technology into classroom instruction and aligned curriculums with district and national standards.
At the Beaverton School District, Rick held several positions, including Technology Instructional Assistant, Grade 3 Teacher, Middle School Technology Teacher, and Library and Instructional Technology Teacher. In these roles, they developed engaging units for various subjects, incorporated technology into lessons, led professional development sessions, and collaborated with teachers to integrate coding and robotics into projects.
Rick's work at the Beaverton School District also involved coordinating Chromebook distribution, writing standards for computer science classes, and participating in the BSD Computer Science Task Force.

Rick Bush attended the University of Michigan from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in History. Rick then pursued further education at Eastern Michigan University from 2003 to 2006, obtaining elementary teacher certification with a focus on Mathematics Education and Social Studies Education. In addition, Rick also completed their Bachelor's degree in History at the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts during the same period. Rick obtained the Oregon Preliminary Teaching License from the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in December 2015, and the Wisconsin Professional Educator 5 Year license from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in July 2013.
