Tim Migaki has a diverse range of work experience. Tim started their career as an International Peer Coach at Tokyo International University of America in 2008. Following this, from 2010 to 2015, they worked as an Assistant Language Teacher in the JET Programme. In 2018, they served as a Student Teacher specializing in Social Studies at North Clackamas Schools. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Licensed Substitute Teacher at North Clackamas Schools and ESS. In 2021, they transitioned to becoming a Language Arts & Social Studies Teacher at Wilbur Rowe Middle School. Concurrently, they were also involved in tutoring positions at Tigard-Tualatin School District, serving as an Upward Bound Tutor from 2016 to 2022 and an AVID Tutor from 2016 to 2018. In 2022, they worked as a Licensed Substitute Teacher at Beaverton School District. Currently, they serve as a Submarine Educator at OMSI. Additionally, since 2007, they have been an Auxiliarist and Flotilla Vice Commander in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Tim Migaki attended Hawaii Tokai International College from 2006 to 2007, where they obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities. Tim then pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese Studies at Willamette University, from 2005 to 2009. Recently, in the years 2017 to 2019, Tim completed their Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree at George Fox University, specializing in Education.
