Hamidreza Sarmadi

Hamidreza Sarmadi is an accomplished professional in the field of structural and earthquake engineering. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University since August 2023, Sarmadi also holds the position of Senior Earthquake Engineer at Bechtel Corporation, a role undertaken since January 2022. Furthermore, Sarmadi is the Principal Structural Engineer at HRS Structural Consultants, with additional experience as a Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager at Miyamoto International from March 2021 to August 2022. Previous positions include Project Engineer at KPFF Consulting Engineers, Structural Engineer at Dunn Associates, and Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Utah. Sarmadi obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Structural Engineering from the University of Utah and a Master’s Degree in Structural Earthquake Engineering from the International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology. Education includes a foundational degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tehran.
