John Winkley

John Winkley is an experienced educational leader and assessment specialist currently serving as a Board Member at VTCT group and AlphaPlus Director at AQA Global Assessment Services since January 2023. As Chairperson of Beckfoot Trust since 2013, John oversees a network of ten government schools serving approximately 7,500 students in West Bradford and the Aire Valley, focusing on comprehensive education and professional development. Additionally, John has held various roles, including Fellow at the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors and Director at AlphaPlus Consultancy Ltd, contributing to business development and educational assessment innovations. John was also a founding board member of the e-Assessment Association and played a pivotal role in developing BTL into a leader in assessment technology and in establishing Virtual College as a significant provider of online vocational learning. John holds an MEng BSc in Electronics from the University of Bath.
