Neil Markey has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Neil is currently serving as the Co-Founder and CEO of Beckley Retreats since November 2021, where they lead transformative wellbeing programs that combine indigenous wisdom, plant-based therapies, and modern psychotherapy.

Prior to this role, Neil founded Maryland Mindfulness in 2013, focusing on providing mindfulness programs for organizations. Neil'sclients included leadership teams from prestigious companies such as McKinsey, Linkedin, New York University, Liberty Mutual, and Siemens. Neil also worked with various professionals from teachers to intelligence agency operators.

In 2006, Neil became a Partner at Creative Metal Design, a company specializing in speciality design and fabrication. Neil co-founded ShieldCo in 2013, another design and fabrication firm, where they served as Co-Founder responsible for strategy and business development. ShieldCo catered to clients such as Pepsi, Lyft, the Brooklyn Nets, the National Association of Realtors, and the University of Maryland.

Neil's experience in the military includes serving as Captain in the 75th Ranger Regiment of the U.S. Army for three years, followed by three and a half years in U.S. Army Special Operations with the 2d Ranger Battalion.

Neil also has extensive consulting experience, serving as the Managing Director of Jacket River - Consulting & Capital from 2018 to 2019. In this role, they led the restructuring of DBi Services as a consultant before being hired as Chief Growth Officer. As the Chief Growth Officer at DBi Services, a private equity-backed infrastructure maintenance company, they were responsible for strategy and growth planning, business development, sales, marketing, estimating/risk, and technical proposal writing.

Neil also worked as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company from 2015 to 2018, where they gained experience in management consulting.

In addition to their professional ventures, Neil is a Co-Founder of The Pointe du Hoc Foundation, founded in 2011, aimed at supporting veterans.
