Becoming Independent
Hazel Rico is an experienced administrative and human resources professional with a background in high-level executive support. Currently serving as Administrative Manager, Human Resources Manager, and Executive Liaison at Becoming Independent since August 2016, Hazel provides vital administrative assistance to the CEO, Leadership Team, and Board of Directors. Prior to this role, Hazel held the position of Assistant Manager at Coach Inc. from January 2010 to August 2016 and served as Assistant Operations Manager at LA Fitness from January 2006 to June 2009. Hazel obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Anthropology from UC Irvine from 2003 to 2007 and has further education from the National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities.

Becoming Independent (BI) is a social impact organization established over 50 years ago to support people with disabilities in becoming more engaged and independent members of the community. BI offers day programs, living support, and employment support in the North Bay Area.
