Marty Thompson has a long and varied career in the consumer packaged goods industry. Marty began their career in 1985 at Procter & Gamble, where they held a variety of roles including Sales Representative, District Field Representative, Unit Manager, and Trade Marketing District Manager. In 1993, they moved to The Clorox Company, where they held the roles of Eastern Divisional Sales Manager, Household Products Division, Trade Marketing Manager, Specialty Division, Director West Coast Grocery, and Sr. Director of Customer Capabilities. In 2004, they became CEO & President of Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, where they were also VP and Head of Sales. In 2018, they became Board Director of Bedrock Analytics and President and Senior Vice President of Consumer Packaged Goods at Nestlé Coffee Partners.

Marty Thompson attended the Texas McCombs School of Business from 1980 to 1984 and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Finance. During this time, they also attended the University of Grenoble, France in 1982 to study French Language and Literature.
