Maria Villax

Maria joined Bedrock in 2021 as Head of Family Governance and Solutions. She started her professional career as a lawyer in Lisbon, doing criminal litigation and intellectual property. Maria then moved to London to study an MBA where she focused on leadership and communication. After that she spent 5 years at PwC helping families around the world developing and implementing adequate family governance frameworks to ensure successful generational transitions. Maria also created education and development programs to help next generations understand the family’s wealth and become responsible owners. She was also the PwC Next Generation ambassador, first at UK and then at Global level, organising and curating events on relevant topics for the next generation. Maria is a 3rd generation of a family business, so she understands first-hand the challenges that come with it. She is fluent in English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
