Ben Koopman has a strong background in the hospitality industry. Ben currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at Beechwood Pinnacle Hotels, starting in 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Operating Officer at Suburban Inns / 6PM Hospitality from 2021 until their current role.
Before joining Suburban Inns, Koopman was the President and a member of the Board of Directors at Reliant Hospitality from 2017 to 2021. Ben also held the same positions at Donohoe Hospitality Services from 2015 to 2017, where they managed a $1 billion hotel asset value and 11 hotels in D.C., Virginia, Maryland, and Alabama.
Koopman has a long history with Jackson Hospitality Services, starting in 1997 as a General Manager and later moving up to Vice President of Operations from 2006 to 2015. Ben also served as the Director of Operations from 2003 to 2006 during their time with the company.
Ben Koopman attended The University of Alabama from 1989 to 1994, where they studied Hotel and Restaurant Administration. After that, they pursued further education at Emory University but the specific years of attendance and completion of the degree are unknown. At some point, Ben obtained a certification called CHA (Certified Hotel Administrator) from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute in September 2008.
