Paulo Guimarães is a Brazilian executive with extensive experience in urban mobility. From 1999 to 2017, they held various positions at the Prefeitura Municipal de São José dos Campos, including Engineer, Assessor of Planning of the Secretary of Transport, Member of the Administrative Board of Infractions Resources, Coordinator General/Technical of the PMSJC & Global Road Safety Partnership Convenio Team, Director of the Department of Traffic Services, Chief of the Division of Operation and Traffic Enforcement, Technical Advisor of the Traffic Directorate, Supervisor of Planning and Control of Material Implementation, Supervisor of Horizontal Signaling, Technical Advisor of the Division of Inspection and Traffic Operation, and Traffic Technician.
From 2014 to 2021, Paulo was the Technical Director, Research & Development, and CEO at the Observatório Nacional de Segurança Viária, an OSCIP (Organization of Civil Society of Public Interest) that produces content for road safety based on research and technical studies. In 2021, they were the President of the National Forum of Secretaries and Managers of Urban Mobility. Currently, Paulo is the Head of Strategic Alliances at beepbeep mobilidade, where they are responsible for expanding services to more cities/states and building new public/private strategic partnerships.
Paulo Guimarães obtained their degree in Engenharia Civil from the Universidade do Vale do Paraíba between 1996 and 2001. Paulo then went on to obtain an MBA in Trânsito from the Instituto de Engenharia between 2008 and 2009. In 2006, they were awarded an Especialista in Gestão e Normatização de Trânsito from CEATT/Faculdade CHAFIC. Finally, Paulo obtained an Especialista in Engenharia de Custos from the Universidade Federal Fluminense/IBEC between 2003 and 2004.
