Laura Klitgaard's work experience begins in 2008 when they worked as a Research Assistant at Purdue University. Laura was responsible for analyzing anthocyanin content in grapes, extracting carotenoids from various sources, and conducting various laboratory analyses.

In 2011, Laura was an Enology Research Intern at E. & J. Gallo Winery, where they gained experience in enology and research.

In 2012, they worked as an Enology Technician at Catena Zapata, further developing their skills in the wine industry.

Laura pursued their academic studies and completed a Master's degree at the University of Copenhagen from 2012 to 2013. Laura then continued their education at the University of Helsinki from 2013 to 2014.

After their studies, Laura joined Novozymes in 2014 as a Research Associate II, focusing on research and development.

In 2015, they worked as a Food Scientist at Ferrara Candy Company before joining Rumi Spice in 2016. At Rumi Spice, Laura held positions as the Director of Product from 2016 to 2019 and Vice President of Quality and R&D from 2019 to 2020.

From 2020 to 2022, Laura worked as an Independent Food Quality and R&D consultant before joining Behold Brands, Inc. in 2022 as the Chief Science Officer, their current role.

Laura Klitgaard's education history begins in 2007 when they enrolled at Purdue University. Laura pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and completed their studies in 2011. In 2012, Laura Klitgaard continued their education at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, where they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Food Science and Technology. Their studies at the University of Copenhagen extended until 2014.

During the same period from 2012 to 2014, Laura Klitgaard also attended the University of Helsinki, where they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Food Science and Technology.

In addition to their formal education, Laura Klitgaard has obtained several certifications. In May 2018, they completed the Preventative Controls for Human Food certification from the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA). In March 2019, they obtained the Foreign Supplier Verification Programs certification, also from the FSPCA. Additionally, in August 2019, Laura Klitgaard received the Internal Food Safety Auditor certification from Eurofins. Finally, in July 2021, they obtained the HACCP Training for Processors certification from NSF Global Food Safety Training.
