Jonathan Liu

SVP, Bio-Manufacturing at BeiGene

Jonathan Liu has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Jonathan served as the CEO of Bio-Island Innovation Center and Chairman of the Board at BeiGene Biologics, where they were responsible for the establishment, operation, financing, talent management, and innovation idea incubation. Jonathan also held the position of China Head, Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing Sciences at a company called Qiangsheng Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Prior to that, they worked as the Head of Scientific Operations at Novartis and as an Associate Vice President at Kalon Biotherapeutics, LLC. Jonathan also served as a Director at AstraZeneca (MedImmune, LLC.), Sanofi Pasteur, and Pfizer. Jonathan started their career as a Staff Scientist at Pfizer, where they developed analytic and biological manufacturing processes and built GLP analytic laboratories. Jonathan completed a fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

Jonathan Liu has a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Hunan Agricultural University. Jonathan also obtained a Master of Science degree in Microbiology and Pathology from Atlantic Veterinary College. Furthermore, they completed a PhD program in Microbiology and Immunology at Queen's University. Lastly, they pursued a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cellular and Molecular Biology at Harvard Medical School from 1995 to 1997.
