Amanda Lonsdale

Amanda Lonsdale has extensive experience in the fields of international development, finance, and project development. Amanda'smost recent position is as Chief Investment Officer at the USAID Climate Finance for Development Accelerator (USAID CFDA) starting from 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Executive Officer at Magnitude Global Finance from 2020. In 2019, they worked as an Energy and Finance Consultant at Climate Policy Initiative and also as a self-employed consultant, providing advisory services on various assignments related to financial instruments, power purchase agreements, and strategy development.

From 2014 to 2019, Amanda Lonsdale was the Managing Director at Athena Global Alliance and Indigo Social Finance, where they co-designed and raised funds for a debt platform for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia. Amanda also held the positions of Geothermal Finance Advisor and Institutional and Commercial Advisor (Consultant) at Deloitte and Adam Smith International, respectively. These roles involved providing technical assistance and advisory services in geothermal energy development.

Prior to that, Amanda Lonsdale worked as a Consultant at Impact Investment Exchange (IIX) in 2018 and as a Senior Geothermal Advisor (Consultant) at PowerAfrica from 2013 to 2015. Amanda'searliest experience includes being the Manager of Business Development at GeoGlobal Energy LLC from 2009 to 2013, where they were responsible for geothermal project development on a global scale.

Amanda Lonsdale has a diverse educational background. Amanda completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations at The Johns Hopkins University from 1992 to 1996. Following that, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Southeast Asia Studies and Economics at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) between 2003 and 2006.

Continuing their academic pursuits, Amanda attended The Wharton School from 2004 to 2006, where they obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance and Entrepreneurship.

In addition to their formal education, Amanda Lonsdale has also obtained the certification in "Fundamentals of Impact Investing: A View from the Field" from the Impact Investment Exchange (IIX) in October 2020.
