Project Manager at Climate Policy Initiative

Anna Balm has a diverse work experience spanning various sectors. Anna started their career as a Project Manager at Williamson Tea in 2011. Later, they worked as a Policy Adviser in the Department for Education from September 2013 to December 2014, where they undertook multiple responsibilities such as leading an inquiry into historical abuse in children's homes and schools, recruiting the Children's Commissioner for England, and contributing to the Children and Families Bill. From December 2014 to May 2018, Anna served as a Senior Policy Adviser in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), focusing on private finance and international climate change. During this period, they played a pivotal role in establishing the U.K. Sustainable Infrastructure Programme in Latin America in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank. Currently, Anna works at the Climate Policy Initiative as a Project Manager for GNIplus Kenya, leading efforts to support the implementation of nationally determined contributions and mobilize private investment for sustainable growth.

Anna Balm completed their secondary education at Kelly College from 2003 to 2008. Anna then pursued higher education and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from the University of St Andrews from 2009 to 2013. In addition, Anna holds a certification as a Certified Expert in Climate & Renewable Energy Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
