Ícaro Moreno de Souza Melo has a diverse work experience in economic analysis and research. Ícaro is currently working as a Climate Finance Analyst at Climate Policy Initiative, where they collect and analyzes data on financial flows to sectors responsible for carbon emissions in Brazil. Prior to this role, Ícaro worked as an Economist at Fundação CEPERJ, where they conducted economic analysis and assisted in calculating the state GDP in collaboration with IBGE. Ícaro also worked as a Scientific Researcher at UFRJ, where they contributed to the research and construction of the final report for the National Program to support Popular Cooperative Incubators. Earlier in their career, Ícaro worked as a Research and Mapping Agent at IBGE.

Ícaro Moreno de Souza Melo completed their Bachelor's degree in Economics at Universidade Federal Fluminense from 2010 to 2015. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's degree in Public Policy Management at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro from 2016 to 2018.
