René Hummen

René Hummen started their work experience in 2007 as a Student Research Assistant at the Distributed Systems Group at RWTH Aachen University. In 2008, they worked as a Diploma Student at the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology. From 2009 to 2015, they were a Researcher/PhD Student and later a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Chair of Communication and Distributed Systems at RWTH Aachen University. In 2015, they joined Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH as a Senior Architect until 2020. Since 2020, they have been working at Belden Inc., where they have held various roles including Manager Technology and Innovation, Senior Manager Technology and Strategy, and currently serves as the Director of Technology and Strategy.

René Hummen studied Computer Science at RWTH Aachen University from 2002 to 2009, earning a Diploma (M.Sc. equivalent). René also pursued a Short-term Study Diploma in Computer Science at the University of Kent at Canterbury from 2005 to 2006.
