Deputy Safety, Protection, Prevention & Wellbeing @ Work In Land Environment at Belgian Defence

Maarten Van de Wiele possesses extensive experience in military leadership and education within the Belgian Armed Forces. Currently serving at Defensie as Deputy Safety, Protection, Prevention & Wellbeing in Land Environment and holding the title of Director at STC², Maarten has held various leadership positions including Chief Small Arms Coordination Cell and Teamleader of Leadership Education Team at EUTM MALI. Past roles also include Military Teaching Assistant at the Royal Military Academy and Leading Officer Light Weapon Systems, where responsibilities encompassed organizing and executing small arms courses for operational units. Maarten's educational background includes a Master's degree in Defence and Political Sciences from the Royal Military Academy and ongoing studies to become an OHS Advisor Level 1 at Odisee, set to conclude in July 2025.
