Tanguy Van Overstraeten serves as the Vice-Chairman and President of the Executive Committee for the Belgium-Japan Association & Chamber of Commerce since 2000. Tanguy holds positions as Issue Lead for Data Protection on the Digital Economy Committee and as a Board Member of the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union from December 2006 to April 2025. As a Partner at Linklaters LLP, Tanguy has been the Global Head of Data Protection and Privacy while also leading the Technology Media & Telecommunications group in Brussels. Prior experience includes partnership at De Bandt, van Hecke & Lagae, where Tanguy specialized in Mergers & Acquisitions, Information Technology, and Telecommunications, among other areas. Educational qualifications include an LL.M. from the University of Chicago Law School and a Licence in Law from Université libre de Bruxelles.
