Yvonne Schmidt

Yvonne Schmidt is an accomplished medicinal chemist with extensive experience in pharmaceutical research and development. Currently, Yvonne serves as the Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Belharra Therapeutics since January 2022, following a role as Principal Scientist at Inception Therapeutics. Previously, at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Yvonne excelled as Research Scientist II, leading projects in chemistry automation and sodium channel programs while managing collaborations with contract research organizations. Earlier roles include a postdoctoral position at UC Irvine and contributions as a scientific coworker at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. Yvonne holds a Dr. rer. nat. in Organic Chemistry and a Diplom in Chemistry from the University of Freiburg.
