Michael Belkin

Internationally renowned scientist and entrepreneur, he is the inventor of the ExPRESS glaucoma shunt, and a founder of Optonol, which was sold to Alcon in 2010. A Professor Emeritus of Ophthalmology at Tel Aviv University, he established the Tel Aviv University Eye Research Institute in the Sheba Medical Center where he headed the Ophthalmic Technology Laboratory. Prof. Belkin holds a Master’s degree in Science from Cambridge University and a Doctorate in Medicine from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
