David Collins

David Collins currently serves as a Staff Engineer and Sr. Manager of Systems Engineering and Safety at Bell Flight, with a career spanning over two decades in aerospace engineering. Since January 2004, David has led systems engineering initiatives for significant programs, including the V-280 Valor and Future Vertical Lift FLRAA, and established Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes for various projects. With a background as a Systems Safety Engineer and Systems Engineer, responsibilities have included requirements management, design assurance, and safety analysis in compliance with aviation regulations. Prior experience includes serving as a Helicopter Mechanic in the United States Marine Corps, where David gained hands-on expertise in maintenance and repair of advanced helicopter systems. David holds a Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
