Senior Systens/sustainment Engineer Lead at Bell Flight

Mark Wood has a diverse work experience that spans over several roles and industries. Mark started their career in the United States Marine Corps as a Gunnery Sergeant, where they supervised and directed Marine Instructors in the performance of their duties. Mark also served as a Training Coordinator, ensuring the professional development of over 5000 Navy and Marine students.

After leaving the military, Wood worked at Bell Flight, where they held various positions. Mark was a Senior Systems/Sustainment Engineer Lead, responsible for leading a team and overseeing maintenance and overhaul processes. Mark was also assigned as the Value Stream Leader for the Repair and Overhaul Center, where they supervised and coached a team and implemented lean process improvements. Additionally, Wood served as the Readiness Integrated Product Team (RIPT) Repair of Repairable (ROR) Liaison, establishing and maintaining liaison with various teams to ensure program requirements were met. Mark was also the V22 Osprey Readiness IPT Level 4 Lead, responsible for increasing readiness and reducing costs. Lastly, they served as Chief, Military Training, ARH/V-22, overseeing the planning and execution of assigned contracts.

Wood is currently exploring medical treatments, as they have been battling cancer since 2015.

Mark Wood completed their education at several institutions. In 1985, they began studying at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation/Airway Management and Operations. Mark successfully completed their degree in 2002. In 2003, Mark attended The George Washington University, where they obtained an Associate Certificate in Project Management in 2004. Additionally, in 2011, they received a Six Sigma Green Belt degree from Textron, Inc., which was further recognized with a Continuous Improvement Specialist Lean Certification.
