Sonya Cotero Arriola

Sonya Cotero Arriola is an accomplished educational leader with diverse experience in various roles, currently serving as Chief of Staff, Interim Principal, and Strategic Advisor to the President at Bellarmine College Preparatory since July 2018. Previously, Sonya held the position of President at Sacred Heart Nativity Schools from August 2014 to July 2018, overseeing financial and operational responsibilities while focusing on the spiritual formation of the community. Earlier career roles include serving as Director of Diversity Outreach at Bellarmine College Preparatory, where bilingual support services were provided to first-generation college-bound students, and leading the BUILD Program to support low-income students. Sonya began the career as a consultant in compensation surveys for several companies, including The Croner Company and Radford. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University, a Master of Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a Doctor of Education in Catholic Educational Leadership from the University of San Francisco.
