Prior to this role, John held the position of High School Principal at Mercer Island School District, leading one of the highest performing schools while fostering a student-centered culture and building strong community partnerships from July 2005 to October 2011. John's career began with high school principal roles at Spectrum Community School and Reynolds Secondary Schools in Greater Victoria School District, where significant initiatives were implemented to enhance graduation rates and develop the province's first sport academy. Earlier positions include Principal at Vancouver Island North School District and Vice Principal at Surrey School District. Educational credentials include a Washington Superintendent Certificate and MEd in Education Administration from Western Washington University, and a BA in Geography and History from Simon Fraser University.
