Juan Torres

Juan Torres has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Juan is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Board Member at Bellhop since July 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Bellhop from March 2022 to July 2023.

Before joining Bellhop, Juan founded Ageeta Ventures in March 2020 and served as the CEO. At Ageeta Ventures, they provided consulting services to D2C product and Edtech companies, focusing on growth and Go-To-Market operations. Juan also served as an interim COO for a successful non-profit organization.

From 2017 to 2019, Juan worked at Getaround as the Executive Vice President Operations. Juan led various operations including sales, customer experience, risk management, and logistics. Getaround is a leading carsharing marketplace that utilizes a proprietary platform for car sharing.

During the same period, Juan was a Fellow at the Pahara Institute. The institute aimed to develop and support diverse leaders advocating for equitable and high-quality educational opportunities. Juan participated in advanced leadership seminars and completed a leadership project.

From 2014 to 2016, Juan served as the Chief Operating Officer at Voxy. Juan played a crucial role in scaling global operations and executing the company's transition from a B2C to a B2B2C model.

Before Voxy, Juan worked at UniversityNow, Inc. as the Senior Vice President for Strategy & Development. Juan led marketing, sales, and business development efforts, focusing on building affordable, accredited universities. Juan also facilitated the acquisition of Patten University.

Their work experience also includes serving as an Operating Partner at Ascend Venture Group from 2010 to 2012, and as the President and Co-Founder of Platform Learning from 2003 to 2010. At Platform Learning, Juan led the growth of the tutoring services company and achieved significant revenue milestones.

Juan started their career at Thomas Weisel Partners, where they served as the Principal and Co-Head of the Software Group. Juan played a key role in launching the firm's East Coast Technology Banking efforts and growing the Software Group.

Additionally, Juan co-founded LearnNow Inc. in 1999 and served as an advisor. LearnNow was an education management company that managed public schools in low-income communities. Juan contributed to the company's growth and played a part in its acquisition by Edison Schools.

Additionally, Juan obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
