Katie Brown

Katie Brown has extensive experience in education, particularly focusing on English Language Learners (ELL). Currently serving as an ELL Advocate and Language Developer at Nooksack Valley School District since 2017, Katie empowers staff to enhance their instructional skills and engage families effectively. Concurrently, Katie works as an ELL Specialist and ELL Education Consultant, providing support and consulting services across Washington State to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of ELL students. Additionally, Katie has held a Teacher Leader TOSA position at Bellingham Public Schools, offering instructional coaching for the secondary ELL program. Educated at Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and at Seattle Pacific University for a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, Katie's diverse educational background complements over a decade of hands-on teaching experience at Shuksan Middle School.
