Vivian Hsu has been working in the field of data engineering since 2016. Vivian began their career as an Assistant Engineer Intern at Infinno Inc. in 2016. In 2018, they became an Honors Student at Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, where they utilized Python, Shell, and R on cloud computing to identify high prevalence of patients with serous ovarian cancer having mutations in TP53. Vivian also managed 12 TB of Ion Torrent Targeted Deep Sequencing data stored in NCI using SQL, Python, and R to visualize the datasets. In 2019, they became a Vocational Placement at Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute and a Biostatistician at Dropbio, where they acted as a biostatistician to perform R/analytical programming and Python and manage genetic sequencing data. Vivian developed methodology of building statistical model between genetic variant and diseases in order to predict the probability of diagnosis of certain diseases. In 2021, Vivian began their current role as a Data Engineer at Bellroy.
Vivian Hsu has obtained a Master's degree in Health Data Science from UNSW in 2020, a Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics from UNSW in 2020, and a Foundation degree in Physical Sciences from UNSW in 2014.
