Andy Leonard

Andy Leonard has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Andy started their career as a Police Major at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, where they served for nearly 24 years until their retirement in April 2012. Following their retirement, they held various roles in different organizations. Andy worked as a Site Captain at Sunstates Security from September 2013 to April 2014. Later, they joined UTC Aerospace Systems as Legal - Security and Investigations from April 2014 to October 2015. Andy then served as the VP Operations at Universal Monitoring, LLC from October 2015 to June 2016. In the same year, they also worked as a Contract Specialist at US ISS and as a Police Liaison at Incidentco. In March 2017, they took on the role of Chief of Campus Police/Director of Public Safety at Belmont Abbey College. Currently, since April 2022, they hold the position of Emergency Medical Technician at the Town of Ocean Isle Beach.

Andy Leonard has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, which they obtained from 1990 to 1994. Andy also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections, earned from Pfeiffer University from 1984 to 1987. In addition, they have completed the FBI National Academy in 2006, specializing in FBI NA 227. Andy Leonard is currently studying Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) at Central Piedmont Community College, with an expected completion date in 2020. Furthermore, they have participated in the Administrative Officers Management Program at North Carolina State University since 1999.
