Marcos Frankowiak

Marcos Frankowiak has extensive work experience in the field of engineering, specifically in systems engineering, risk management, and design controls within the medical devices industry. Marcos is currently employed as the Systems Engineering and Risk Management Lead at Belmont Medical Technologies since January 2022. Prior to this, Marcos held various roles at Philips, including Technologist - System Design Reliability & Risk Management, Risk Management Design Controls Manager, R&D Engineering - Medical Devices Measurement Specialist, R&D Project Manager - Medical Devices, and Research and Development Coordinator. Before joining Philips, they worked as a Development Engineer at a consulting firm. Marcos also has a research background, having worked as a Researcher at the Cardiff School of Engineering, where they conducted a PhD research program in the field of condition monitoring systems. Marcos was involved in various research and development projects, including the development of microcontroller-based technology, distributed monitoring systems, and laboratory test fixtures and equipment. Marcos also has experience in research project management and has presented their work at international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals.

Marcos Frankowiak has a PhD in System Engineering from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, which they obtained from 2000 to 2004. Marcos also holds a Minor in Telecommunication Technology from FURB - Fund. Universidade Reg. de Blumenau, which they obtained in 1993. Furthermore, they have a degree in Electrical Engineering from FEJ/UDESC - Univ. Desenv. Est. SC, completed from 1982 to 1987. In addition to their formal education, they have certifications in Applied Model-Based Systems Engineering from Teaching Science & Technology, Inc. (TSTI) and SAFe® 4 Certified Agilist and SAFe® 4 Certified Product Owner/Product Manager from Scaled Agile, Inc.
