Pascal Panneels is a Senior System Architect at Belnet since October 2001, with extensive experience in leading the setup, architecture, operation, and maintenance of various systems, including a federated identity management system for the Belgian research and education community, public key infrastructure solutions, and a distributed Wi-Fi access network solution (eduroam). Pascal also contributed to developing a similar system for Belgian government entities (govroam) and has managed one of the largest FTP servers on the Internet. With a solid background in IP network protocols and hardware, as well as proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Perl, Pascal’s previous experience includes roles as a Software Engineer at Sony Electronics and Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing B.V., focusing on C++ programming and the development of database exploitation software. Pascal holds a Licentiate degree in Computer Science from Université libre de Bruxelles.
