Oceana R. Gilliam is currently a Trustee at Beloit College. Prior to that, they were an Account Coordinator at Jarvis Communications, Inc. from August 2020 to April 2021. Before that, they were the Policy and Community Liaison at Community Health Councils (CHC) from October 2019 to July 2020, where they were responsible for conducting policy research and analysis on critical issues affecting South LA communities. Oceana also facilitated and led a resident-based committee tasked with developing a strategic plan to address the root causes of local food insecurity. From January 2019 to September 2019, they were an OEI Research Fellow at Los Angeles Metro. And from June 2018 to August 2018, they were a Policy Fellow at Los Angeles City Hall.
Oceana R. Gilliam has a Master of Public Policy from UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, a Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Junior Summer Institute from Princeton University, and a Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program from Beloit College. Oceana also has a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Russian from Beloit College.
