Gustavo Efeiche

Gustavo Efeiche has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and management. Gustavo is currently an Engineering Manager at Belvo, where they lead the development and human efforts for the Open Payments and Open Finance products across Latin America. In this role, they manage a team of 10 engineers and is responsible for backend services development using Python/Django, AWS, CircleCI, and DataDog. Gustavo has also written formal documentation for the IFPE certification by the Mexican government.

Prior to their current position, Gustavo was an Engineering Manager at Bitso, where they led the Payments Infrastructure Operations team and was responsible for delivering robust and reliable on/off payment ramps for FIAT and cryptocurrencies across Latin America. Gustavo also maintained transaction reconciliation processes and created new workflows for worldwide currencies.

Before Bitso, Gustavo worked at Onze as an Engineering Manager and Senior Software Engineer. Gustavo led the Clients and Financial Movements teams and mentored multidisciplinary teams while guiding technical implementations and product development. Gustavo made technical decisions, collaborated on product roadmaps, and evaluated team members through reviews and 1-on-1 sessions.

Earlier in their career, Gustavo worked as a Software Engineer at companies such as IBM, EGRECCO, and Fhinck. At IBM, they served as a Lead Engineer in the Itaú-Modernização project, contributing to the digital transformation of legacy systems into modern microservices-oriented systems. Gustavo mentored engineers, made technical and product decisions, and monitored production systems.

Gustavo's early work experience also includes a role as a Student Tutor at Insper.

Gustavo Efeiche completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Insper Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa from 2015 to 2019.
