Sameer Pillai

Sameer Pillai is an experienced software engineer with a diverse background in various technology companies. Currently serving as a Software Engineer at Benchling since August 2021, Sameer previously held the position of Staff Software Engineer at Box from January 2017 to February 2021, where responsibilities included backend engineering focused on identity and security frameworks. Prior experience includes working as an MTS Software Engineer at Datos IO, Inc. from December 2014 to January 2017, contributing to data protection software for scaleout databases. Sameer also served as a Software Engineering Manager at Altera from June 2005 to November 2014, leading a team in developing infrastructure for the Quartus®II FPGA compiler. Earlier in the career, Sameer worked as a member of the technical staff and software engineer at Altera, standardizing data handoffs and verification processes. Sameer holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from VJTI, University of Mumbai.
