Jason Epley

President at Benchmark Planning

Jason Epley, AICP, serves as the President of Benchmark Planning since 2007, where an approach blending creative talent with technical expertise addresses complex urban and regional planning issues. In addition, Jason has held the position of Executive Director for the North Carolina Downtown Development Association since 2001, focusing on economic growth and development in North Carolina’s downtowns. Previous roles include Chief Planner for the NC Dept. of Commerce from 1998 to 2007, where regional land use plans and economic development studies were prepared, and Planner for the Cumberland County Joint Planning Board from 1996 to 1998. Jason’s career began as a Community Development Coordinator for the City of Lexington and a Planner/Downtown Coordinator for the Historic Ninety Six Development Association. Academic qualifications include a Master of City and Regional Planning from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Geography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
