Mya Starling

Mya Starling has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries and roles. Mya started their career as a Research Biologist at Merck, where they developed and performed assays for drug discovery and diagnostics. After that, they worked as a Research Analyst at Grays Harbor College and as a Research Associate at The Evergreen State College, where they conducted data analysis and reported qualitative assessments.

Mya then transitioned into the field of institutional research and effectiveness, holding various director positions at Bramson ORT College, University of Nevada Las Vegas, and University of Wisconsin Colleges. In these roles, they led survey initiatives, prepared institutional reports, and conducted research and analyses to support student learning and institutional effectiveness.

Later, Mya took on senior-level positions such as Senior Research Analyst at The New School and Director of Institutional Research at University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Mya provided research, strategic planning, and analysis support to university executives and faculty, and initiated projects like the development of a university-wide data dictionary.

Most recently, Mya worked at TDS Telecommunications LLC as a Lead Data Analyst, where they created an Alteryx analytic app and a Tableau dashboard to streamline data analysis and project assessment. Mya also developed and maintained Tableau dashboards for several departments.

Throughout their career, Mya has exhibited a strong ability to analyze data, develop tools and systems, and provide valuable insights to support decision-making and achieve institutional goals.

Mya Starling has a diverse education history. Mya earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology from Earlham College from 1989 to 1993. Mya went on to pursue a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biology at UC San Diego from 1995 to 1998. Later, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Marketing and Entrepreneurship from San Diego State University from 1999 to 2003.

In addition to their degrees, Mya also holds several certifications. Mya received the Tableau Desktop Certified Associate certification from Tableau Software in December 2020. In July 2020, they obtained the Alteryx Core Certification, and in March 2020, they obtained the Alteryx Designer Core Certification, both from Alteryx.
