Data Science & Analytics at Bending Spoons

Andrea Maiorana is currently a Data Science & Analytics at Bending Spoons. Prior to that, they were a Visiting PhD Student at the University of Pennsylvania from March 2017 to May 2017. Before that, they were a PhD Student in Mathematics at SISSA from October 2014 to September 2018, where their research project was in algebraic geometry focused on moduli spaces of sheaves on rational surfaces, quiver moduli, and their interplay via derived categories and stability conditions. Andrea has also been a teaching assistant in a "Mathematical Physics" course for master students in mathematics at the University of Trieste, in the academic years 2015/16, 2016/17, and 2017/18.

Dr. Andrea Maiorana is a mathematician and physicist who received their PhD from the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati di Trieste in the field of geometry and mathematical physics. Andrea also holds an MS in physics from Università degli Studi di Milano and a BS in physics from the same school. In addition to their academic credentials, Dr. Maiorana has also received certification in deep learning from IBM and cognitive class in deep learning with TensorFlow (ML0120ENv2) and data analysis with Python (DA0101EN).

Andrea Maiorana reports to Federico Perazzi, Head of AI. They are on a team with Ennio Nasca - Machine Learning Engineer, Carlo Pulcini - Data Science & Analytics, and Giuseppe Gallo - Data Science & Analytics.
