David Klein

David Klein is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in business development and investment management. Currently serving as Managing Director and Head of the Insurance Group at Benefit Street Partners since September 2018, David specializes in credit-focused alternatives, including Middle Market Lending, Opportunistic Private Debt, CLOs, Bank Loans, High Yield Bonds, Commercial Real Estate Debt, and Special Situations investing. Prior roles include Vice President in the Financial Institutions Group at BlackRock, Director at Pacific Life's Pacific Asset Management, and Sales Director at PineBridge Investments. David's career also spans positions at Lazard Asset Management, Merrill Lynch, and an internship at Wilmington Trust. David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
