David Carter

David Carter has over 35 years of work experience in the technology industry. David started their career in 1983 as a Software Designer/Developer for Stromberg Carlson, SAIC, Maynard Electronics & American Automated, where they programmed digital telephone switches and hard disk controllers to mortgage banking applications and military simulators for tanks and airplanes. In 1991, they became the Director of Information Technology for ATS Services (later Accustaff), where they implemented PeopleSoft companywide, successfully managed Y2K transition and played a key role in many mergers and acquisitions. In 2000, they became the Owner of ITech21, an independent software developer, where they developed a touch screen system for Pfizer pharmaceutical company that provided easy, accessible cholesterol testing for use in clinical and non-clinical settings. David also began working with HR executives to create Online Benefits Enrollment and Administration systems, developing the idea which resulted in the founding of their next business, Werktek. In 2012, they founded and became the CEO of BenefitWerks, which delivers smart HR software solutions to smart companies throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia and South, Central and North America.

David Carter obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from DeVry University in 1982. David also holds a Resident Insurance License from the Florida Department of Financial Services.
