Scott Snibe is currently an advisor at Benevolently, a position they have held since May of 2019. Prior to that, they were a product manager at Facebook from August 2016 to May 2019, where they worked on R&D and discovery for advanced augmented reality hardware products. Scott also defined the future product roadmap. From October 2013 to July 2016, they were the founder and CEO of Eyegroove, a mobile social platform for user-generated music videos. The team joined Facebook in 2016 and integrated its augmented reality effects into Instagram and other video sharing products. From January 2007 to March 2011, they were the CEO of Snibbe Interactive, a pioneering San Francisco augmented reality and immersive art startup. The company created emotionally resonant interactive experiences for theme parks, science museums, healthcare, corporations, and retail. Its work included large-scale gestural camera-projector installations at Olympics and expos; interactive exhibits for museums; touch tables; and mobile applications. Its clients included James Cameron’s Avatar Exhibition, Björk’s Biophilia concert tour, Disney, The Beijing Olympics, Sony, and many others. Snibbe Interactive's work brought joy, social engagement, entertainment, and meaning to the everyday lives of tens of millions of people worldwide and hundreds of clients.
Scott Snibe earned their high school diploma from York School. Scott then went on to study computer science and fine art at Brown University, where they earned their B.A. After that, they studied experimental animation at the Rhode Island School of Design before earning their M.Sc. in computer science from Brown University.
