Pamela Golchet

Dr. Pamela Golchet is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Fellowship-trained Retina specialist with training and experience developed at nationally renowned medical institutions. Dr. Golchet is a native of Los Angeles, having graduated as valedictorian of her class from Stephen Wise High School. As an undergraduate at University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Golchet was awarded the prestigious UCLA Regents Scholarship for Outstanding Scholastic Performance and Achievement. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with many other notable distinctions including Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society, four years on the UCLA Dean’s Honor List, the UCLA Stone Award, and the Byrd Honors Scholarship.

Dr. Golchet went on to receive her medical degree from University of California, San Francisco, which has consistently been ranked one of the nation’s top medical schools by U.S. News and World Report. She was among a select few to be awarded the USCF School of Medicine Regents Scholarship, the highest academic honor bestowed for Outstanding Scholastic Performance, Achievement, and Promise as a Leader. During medical school, she was the recipient of the USCF Dean’s Summer Research Fellowship to support her research at the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute.

Dr. Golchet completed Residency in Ophthalmology and Fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal Diseases at the esteemed Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. There, she had the privilege of being mentored by the world-renowned Dr. Lee Jampol, a distinguished leader and pioneer in Vitreo-Retinal Diseases. Dr. Golchet’s research has led to valuable contributions to the field of retina and multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals including Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, Retina, and Survey of Ophthalmology. She was the first to describe the previously unknown clinical entity persistent placoid maculopathy. She has been the recipient of several grants to present her work at national meetings such as the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the American Ophthalmological Society.

Dr. Golchet is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of vitreo-retinal diseases with a particular interest in age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vascular occlusions. She has been treating patients with vision-threatening conditions in the Los Angeles area for approximately 10 years. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
