Executive Chef at Bennett Hay

Alistair Day is an experienced executive chef, who has spent the last 25 years in some of London's most prestigious kitchens. Alistair began their career as a head chef at McNeil's Restaurant, before moving to Freshfields Law Firm in 1995. There, they oversaw all aspects of the kitchen, including stock control, GP, audits and training. In 2001, they joined Compass Group's Restaurant Associates division, where they were responsible for supporting new business development and mobilising key contracts.

Some of Day's most notable achievements came during their time at MITIE Catering Services London LTD, which they joined in 2004. As Partner/Group Executive Chef, they were instrumental in growing the company from a start-up to a 25 million turnover business with a chef team of over 40. Alistair also helped develop the food concept for Le Meridien Hotel, Standard Life, Virgin Media, Hamleys, Osborne Clark and Beachcroft LLP.

Day is currently Executive Chef at Bennett Hay, where they continue to create innovative and delicious dishes for clients across London.

Alistair Day attended the University of West London, where they studied international culinary arts and earned their bachelor's degree.

Alistair Day reports to Robin Hay, Owner, Director. They are on a team with Zoë Watts - Business Development Director, Anna Gorniak - Marketing & Media Manager, and Jonathan Moran - Operations Manager.
