Kat Hughes

Kat Hughes has a diverse work experience in various roles related to design, art, and gallery management. Kat started their career as a Photography Intern at Kristen Ashburn Photography in 2007 and later worked as a Curatorial Intern at Asheville Art Museum in 2008. Kat also served as an Art Assistant at the Foundation for Contemporary Art, where they conducted studio visits and documented artwork.

In 2010, Kat worked as a Gallery Assistant at Hendershot Gallery and as a Graphic Designer and International Student Representative at American Universities' Services. Kat handled graphic design projects and administrative duties, focusing on facilitating the placement of international students into U.S. universities.

From 2012 to 2014, Kat worked as a Graphic Designer and Gallery Manager at Keith de Lellis Gallery. Kat was responsible for various tasks, including design for print and web, website management, client handling, and sales. Kat managed a wide range of photographic prints.

In 2014, Kat joined Jeff Koons LLC as a Lead Designer, Photo Editor, and Project Manager. Kat served in this role until October 2018, contributing to design projects and managing various aspects of the studio.

From 2014 to 2019, Kat worked as a Digital Designer at Gina Bianco Studio, focusing on aesthetic development and digital designs for luxury interior features. Kat collaborated with international artisans, clients, vendors, and architects on creating unique designs.

Most recently, starting in January 2022, Kat has been working at Bennington College as an Art Director. In this role, they are responsible for managing the college's branding, overseeing the design division of the office of Communications, and leading all design projects from conception to completion. Kat also supervises the College's photography, videography, and digital archive.

Kat Hughes has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree from New York University, where they double-majored in Photography & Imaging and Anthropology from 2006 to 2010. Before that, they completed their high school education at the Interlochen Arts Academy, specializing in Visual Art from 2002 to 2010. In 2008, they also earned a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from the University of Ghana. Additionally, Kat Hughes has obtained certifications in Typography and Identity from the School of Visual Arts and Creative Advertising from ELVTR, both in the year 2023.
